Chris helps foundations, nonprofits, and donors turn big ideas into clear plans for action. He builds strategies, partnerships, budgets, and teams that move ambitious goals forward. He leads complex projects from start to finish with a campaign mindset, bringing together research, advocacy, policy, communications, and coalition building.

Chris has been with Civitas since 2013. His experience includes managing research portfolios, developing earned, paid, and influencer media campaigns, coordinating donor tables, overseeing grants and nonprofit operations, and meeting facilitation. His work has covered campaign finance, mental health, climate and clean energy, immigration, affordability, workforce development, criminal justice, and LGBTQ equality. These efforts helped win policy changes at the local, state, and federal levels. He also spent nine years supporting activists and organizations working for equality in more than 55 countries.

A native Montanan, Chris began his career working for U.S. Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester. He co-founded Inseparable and serves on the boards of Helena Food Share, Inseparable Action, and Mental Health PAC. He graduated from the University of Montana’s Davidson Honors College, which named him a Distinguished Alumnus in 2022. Chris lives in Helena, Montana, with his wife, Kristin, and their son, Oscar.
